Unique Ceiling Fans

I"m putting a ceiling fan in and the hole in the electric box is stripped is there any way we can make the screw fit? HELP ME PLEASE!

I hooked up my ceiling fan to a 2 switch switch. And the only way I can get it to work is my black wire to my fan goes to my white wire in my ceiling and my white wire in my fan goes to my copper(ground) wire. So I don’t even use the black switch at all. Is that ok or is something crossed I tried everything. Thats the only way I can get the fan to come on at all

My ceiling fan pull cord broke. Unfortanately, it is still spinning how do i stop it? Also, which position should i have the switch that makes it suck up or blow down the air so it could make the room cooler?

Does anyone know where i could buy a ceiling fan, it has to be light wood and bronze, and not Ebay it has to be available in Ireland please help !! really stuck..

how in the HECK do you install a ceiling fan? is it something i could figure out… or something i should have a professional come do?! i already have the light fixture up i just dont know if all lights can have one put in or what the deal is!

I’m attempting to install a ceiling fan where an older existing one was. When I removed the old fan, there was no hole in the ceiling where an outlet box would be. There was only a white, black, and ground wire coming through a small hole in the ceiling. With the new fan I bought, I will need to install a box in order to support the weight of the fan. Obviously, I will need to cut a hole in the ceiling to install a box. What kind of box should I use? Also, is it possible to connect the fan to a wall switch considering all I have to work with is a white and black wire?

I have a new ceiling fan with a light kit on it. When I turn the fan on, it makes a noise (I think its the lights vibrating when the fan is on). What can I do to stop it?

I have just moved into a home built in 1952. All the light fixtures in the house are 12" square recessed lights placed in the middle of the room, which offer a minimal amount of light in each room at best. I decided to change out the lights with ceiling fans, however, I’ve run into a bit of a problem. There are only two wires coming from the fixture, and both are wrapped with black cloth. In the old fixture, the two wires formed hooks around the screws holding the light bulb fixture in place. None of this matches up to any ceiling fan I’ve seen. What do I do?

and in the bedroom, there is a plug for a ceiling fan to go, however i just want to hang paper lanterns from the ceiling and plug them in without having to trail the cords down the wall..

Is there any way that I can attach them through the ceiling fan outlet??
A way that possibly doesn’t involve me having to call a professional to do it??

I recently installed a ceiling fan in my great room, and it works just fine. The only problem is, when I have it on the High setting, it wobbles slightly and you can a click every once and while. Before I take all apart and put it back together, is there something specific that would cause this? I have some idea of what could cause it, but I’d like to gather some other opinions.

I am sleeping in my office and usually have a ceiling fan at home. I would like to replicate the sound on my computer so that I feel more like I’m at home.

My 3 year old gets warm at night and already sleeps directly under the fan, so I want to drop it down so that he gets the maximum effect and is more comfortable.

It’s an 8 foot ceiling, so I need about a 5 foot extension to drop it down far enough to keep him cool. It should be a good foot above his bed then.

My ceiling fan lights are a bright blue and I’d like them to black or chrome.

There aare no electrical wires going to in since it runs off of batteries so is there a way to deactivate it? Every night, the ceiling fan comes on by itself sometime when im asleep and its always freezing when i wake up in the morning. Please help me.

I took out my old ceiling fan and put in a new one and found that the piece that holds the ceiling fan to the ceiling is loose. Is there a way to tighten it without going into the attick. There is not a lot of room to crawl up there. The mount is still up there it is just a little loose. Also how are the brackets held up. Is it just a couple of screws into the joists?

I have a Hampton Bay ceiling fan and can’t figure out how to remove the light cover. Also, the idiot that installed it put the fan blades on upside down. How can I fix this?

I have this extra red wire coming from the ceiling outlet. This is a new home. The instruction manual for the ceiling fan did not talk about a red wire. this is what I did…

Ceiling Black wire to Fan Black wire AND Blue wire. The fan works but the lights don’t.
What is this red wire for too? AM I supposed to attach the blue wire to the red one?
The light housing is connected to the fan housing already. That should not be the problem.

I was able to fix the light socket in the ceiling fan that had scorched/burnt out but now I can’t get the fan to turn off, it just keeps running. Not sure what I did wrong. Any ideas out there? I hate to take it all apart again after finally figuring out how to replace the socket but it may be the only way to turn off the fan.

Right now I have a ceiling fan in my apartment, but it just started humming when it’s on high, so I need to either replace it or fix it. I’m assuming it’s going to cost a lot to do that. I also rent my apartment, so I don’t want to put too much money into something I don’t even own. Should I just get a regular fan? Do they work just as well to keep me cool in the summer?

I have a ceiling fan on a 6" down rod. The down rod has a ball at one end that fits into a bracket attached to the ceiling. The wiring for the fan runs from the junction box in the attic through the downrod. Whenever the fan is on, the ball turns in the opposite direction. Eventually, the wires running through the fan get so twisted up that they pull themselves loose from the connections in the junction box. How can I stop this?

We have recessed can lighting in our house and would like to replace one light with a ceiling fan. There is a light in the center of the room that is the only light on the switch. Can I repalce this with a ceiling fan and will the wiring be the same?

I’ve got a Hampton Bay remote controlled ceiling fan. The model number on the remote is UC7030T. I found the switches in the remote, but where are the switches on the fan? I need to change the frequency because it’s getting interference from somewhere and turning the light and fan on/off when I’m not in the room.
I’ve tried the Hampton Bay website, but they just tell you to go to Home Depot and ask someone, but I can’t find anyone at Home Depot that knows because they don’t carry this fan anymore. That’s why I’m here asking

There are only one white and one black wire coming from my fan with light kit. But there are 3 white and 3 black wires coming from my ceiling. How do I determine which to hook to the fan wires?
